Mike Colon DVD Contest!!!

A couple of weeks ago I picked up unclemike from the airport. We started to talk on the way to South Beach. My wife and I took him all over South Beach we had dinner on Lincoln Road. Anyway to make a long story short he left me a Signed Copy of his latest DVD to give away a $200.00 value for free how cool is that from unclemike.
The DVD was filmed in a Toronto wedding I had the pleasure of being there with him and trust me the wedding was awesome. The winner is going to enjoy this DVD big time lots of info!!
We had a wedding on Sunday in Miami the day before his Awesome Master Your Craft Seminar.

Ok people I've got a bunch of emails about Advertising in wedding magazines putting your Ads in there yes no maybe perhaps does it work!!There is an old saying if you don't put in you don't get out!!!
The Classiest most beautiful and coolest and gets so much exposure magazine out I think in the USA for weddings is Grace Ormonde Wedding Style.
It may sound like I'm pushing this magazine and I am because I believe in it, and in them the Grace Ormonde team are all first Class people.
I've had the privilege to work, travel with Grace Ormonde her self and the team and let me tell you by far the best experience ever.

People ask me Ray do you get calls from the ad, dude did you book a wedding from the ad does it work should I Advertise in the magazine what am I going to get out of it.Well what do you want out of it???
Listen as a photographer you want exposure your name out yes but very simple.
1) When your ready to Advertise be sure and be ready to.

2) Have your website up and running looking as sharp as you look when you go shoot that beautiful wedding.

3) Have the most awesome work on your site not 75 or 150 images of the whole wedding to much just 15 or 20 images of the best stuff of the day you know that saying less is more!!

4) Don't expect to book a wedding from the ad 2 days after it's out in the news stand.

5) Your getting your name out there your creating a buzz.

6) It takes time for people to see it the best part is your name is getting out there one, two
Potential clients you may be getting from across the country.

7) Advertisng is not cheap we are Aware of that, but when all said and done and your Site is ready and looking Sharp!!! and the funds are there or not you can charge it nothing wrong with that I say go for it!!

8) Get ready for some Destination weddings.

9) If not an entire page ad you can do if there is space availible an ad in the Platinum List I'm there and it has been AWESOME for me remember everyone is different some people will get more feedback than others its all good your still getting your name out there which is very very good!!
You don't have to be a Rocket sciencetist to know the more exposure you get the better but it doesn't hurt to get your name out there. Some photographers don't believe in it but it's ok it's not for everyone what ever makes you happy!!

I've been very lucky this year I have my first published wedding in the Grace Ormonde Wedding Style magazine and also a Puerto Rico Fashion shoot and also a Chanel shoot, yes I know not one but three published shoots...
This magazine is an Incredible way for you to start getting your name out there for the wedding industry just go to the news stand and check it out there are a bunch of great photographers in there from the West to the East coast. There are lots of different wedding magazines out there you can go out and try a few but just check out who's who and where they are at!!!
Very simple don't be scared to put an ad out there it will always be a good positive thing.

Deise & Herly get Married

NO FLASH WEDDING

This wedding was such a blast.
They are so beautiful together, happy, fun, and in LOVE!!!
Just wanted to let you guys know we did not use Flash the entire wedding just a little video light at the end for about 3 or 4 minutes and thats it it was awesome.
Above is Deise with one of my Nikon D3 bodies she wanted to get a couple of shots of us. Here is a shot of unclemike below doing his thing I had to drag him out of the wedding he was having to much fun he didn't want to leave at the end of the night, thanks bro for the helping hand!!!

Below is a shot of unclemike AR myself and the beautiful Deise, thanks again to AR for being there, dude your the best. This was the first time for AR to shoot a live wedding with unclemike he had the best time of his life priceless he said. Over 2000 butterflies all over the church so so beautiful.
Special thanks to Nikon for the Awesome D3 without this camera we would have needed flash for the wedding in lots of places...I think the highest ISO we shot was about 4000 plus not much higher this Nikon D3 is so Sick its not even funny. My Arsenal of lenes that I used for the day my Monster 200. 2.0 , 85 1.4 , 50 1.4 , New 24-70 2.8 New 14-24 2.8 70 to 200 2.8 I shot pretty much wide open all day. I think with the shots unclemike and I got AR is starting to get the itch for a New Nikon D3!!! lol. goodtimes

Christina & Dans Wedding

What a blast I had shooting this wedding. Christina and Dan flew in and got away from the chilly weather in Boston for their wedding here in sunny Miami.
Here are some shots of the day the ceremony was at the beautiful St. Patrick Church MiamiBeach. Just wanted to let you great photographers out there know that I love to use Exposure 2’s Fuji Reala setting takes these beautiful photos to the next level. Achieve the color depth and contrast that you want with Reala. Alien Skin Software Rocks!!! I love this shot from the upstairs of this beautiful church what a view!!!
